FILC Liability Waiver and Hold Harmless Agreement

This form is required for all persons attending the FILC conference 2026. This Waiver and Hold Harmless Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into by the undersigned participant in favor of the Florida Association for International Educators (FAIE), its board members, officers, volunteers, agents, employees, sponsors, affiliates, and partnering organizations (collectively, "FAIE").

Assumption of Risk

I acknowledge that my participation in the Florida International Leadership Conference (“Conference”), including but not limited to swimming in a lake, ziplining, campfire/bonfire activities, outdoor games, team-building exercises, and other recreational or leadership activities, involves certain inherent risks, including the risk of personal injury, illness, property damage, or even death.

I understand the nature of these activities and voluntarily choose to participate. I assume full responsibility for any and all risks, whether known or unknown, associated with participation in the Conference.

Release and Waiver

In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Conference, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and next of kin, hereby release, waive, and discharge FAIE, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action, including those caused by the negligence of the released parties, arising out of or related to my participation in the Conference.

Hold Harmless and Indemnification

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless FAIE and its representatives from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from or related to my participation in the Conference, including injury to myself or others or damage to property.

Medical Treatment

I authorize FAIE to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf if I am unable to consent. I understand that I am responsible for all costs related to medical care and transportation.

Media Release

I grant FAIE the right to use photographs, video, or audio recordings taken of me during the Conference for educational or promotional purposes in any medium, including print and online formats, without compensation.

Severability

If any part of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts shall continue in full force and effect.

Acknowledgement of Understanding

I have read this Agreement carefully and fully understand its terms. I understand that I am giving up substantial legal rights by signing it. I sign this document freely and voluntarily, and agree to be legally bound by its terms.
